At the COP26 climate conference in November 2021, the secretary of state for education Nadhim Zahawi announced a draft Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy. This set out an ambitious vision for the UK鈥檚 education sector to be world-leading in sustainability and climate change by 2030. The strategy outlines action areas to achieve this vision in England: education; skills; the education estate; operations and supply chains; and the use of data.
The draft strategy acknowledges the excellent work in many schools, and the DfE is keen to share examples of good practice and innovation.
