Local Governance Associations

Local governance associations are mainly independent groups established by governors for governors to support governance in their local areas. Ìý

Local associations provide a platform for governors and trustees to communicate with other members in their local region. They facilitate networking among governors and trustees to exchange information, knowledge, and best practices and ensure that the views of local governors are heard and considered by the wider education community. Ìý

The fee charged by associations is nominal, and it provides access to a network, training, and conferences, which are crucial for promoting good governance.Ìý
